New and not sure which female to get.

Ok so I recently picked up a vpi axanthic male and right now I have a choice of getting either a het pied female or het red axanthic female and they're about the same price. However I'm not sure which one I should get. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

What are your plans? Do you plan to breed?

Yes I do plan to breed. But I found the genetics wizard and decided against both and now I'm gonna get a bumblebee female instead.

Not to be a downer but you do realize that breeding your vpi axanthic to anything other than another vpi axanthic is a very long long trip. I would look into getting a female morph het vpi axanthic at the very least. They should be pretty reasonable in price. Like a lesser het axanthic or fire het axanthic.

Make sure you stick to the same line of axanthic. None of the axanthics are compatible.

I agree with Wapadi. If you breed your axanthic to anything that isn't axanthic or het axanthic, you wont produce anything stunning since it is a recessive gene. Now, if you're willing to wait two generations (like me with my double recessive project), then you can make your own ______ het axanthic, and breed them back to get axanthics. I'd definitely look into fire/spider/pastel combinations. They are awesome with axanthic.
