Amber currently resides in a 20gallon Long glass enclosure. I plan on getting a bearded dragon in august, and placing it in Amber's current enclosure, and I am plan on putting Amber in a 40 gallon long which will be fine for her for the rest of her life.
Amber, with a Jan '04 hatchday, is probably about 18-24" long as of right now, and growing. Given a normal rate of growth, would she still be too small for the 40 gallon tank come August? I just don't want to stress her out or have her feel lost in the larger enclosure.

Your snake could live indefinitly in that 20 Gallon Long. You could put her in a 40 long but be sure to have enough hides and vines to make her feel secure. She is going from her nice small secure house to a house that is twice as big. But IMO a 40 should be ok too jsut take some extra percautions.
Thanks,

I agree with Damien...just provide some extra hides and some greenage for her to "sneak" around in, and she'll probably love it.
I'll say this though...how old/big of a beardie do you plan on getting? If you get a little baby, then a 20gal should last you about a year. I got one that is almost a year old (a juvie) and he's pretty much outgrown the 20 I put him in a couple months ago.

I just found a used 40gal breeder tank, at a very good price. Anyone think this will be a good choice?
