Dwarf/Super Dwarf Retic Question
I have been keeping corn snakes for 6-7 years and for the past year have been thinking about going to the next level, I was originally going to get a Carpet Python as I heard that they would be a great snake for someone progressing to the next level. They are tame, don't get massive and don't need to eat massive food items. The problem is I live in the UK and it is almost impossible to find a carpet python for sale and the ones that are available are not at a reasonable price, a guy was selling a normal carpet python for £2000 ($3386) So my dream kinda died. I have always liked Retics and then I found out that there are Dwarf/SD retics and my interest was sparked again. I hear that Dwarf retics are the same size as carpet pythons (around 10ft), are just as tame (if not tamer) and they are at good prices from reputable breeders. I have held big snakes before (burmese, boa etc...) but have never got around to progressing. A year later I now have the idea again and am wondering what to do? What you guys think about this.

Re: Dwarf/Super Dwarf Retic Question
Ive never kept any retics but i know that retics have alot of energy and will more then likely be a workout to handle. Where burms are more on the calm side. Thats about all i xan help with
Ps thats a crazy price for a normal carpet i got mine for like $80 here

Check with Thomas Simpkons Retics and Edward Church Reptiles both based in the UK and offering dwarf / SD retics at very affordable prices. Especially for the high % SD tigers Thomas produces! And as far as carpets being that expensive, I find that extremely unlikely. The prices I have seen for the UK have been more favorable than the prices we see here in the states. More so, in fact, that people do mass shipments from there to here and then resell here! Check out UKPythons Paul Harris for more on that.
Keep in mind these are two different beast. a 10ft retic does not even come close to being like a 10 ft carpet. Retics are intelligent and down right STRONG. They also have a wicked bite that is described as being associated with a chainsaw, due to its ability to rip through flesh. Not trying to detour anyone. Just making sure you understand the differences.

Retics are my passion. Just ask.
