Have you seen a female do this before?

She just dropped nine eggs, and they're all over the enclosure instead of her coiled around a clutch. I'll candle them ASAP, but I'm wondering if anyone's had this happen before, and if you have, and was there any issue with the clutch. She's laid eggs before and did it properly last year.

I've never heard/seen this with snakes but I know with birds if the eggs are infertile they throw them out of the nest. Maybe they aren't fertile? Just a theory

Last year she laid eight eggs and kicked one or two out of the clutch and those didn't hatch, but an entire clutch? It's just so weird.

I'm also not sure what's up with how dimpled they are. They must have been laid in the last 24 hours, and she sheds perfectly every month, so the humidity's not too low...

I've never seen this before either. Make sure you check every egg and turn it right side up if it's upside down. Since she didn't coil them the eggs could've rolled. I hope they all hatch out okay! 😊

    Well...

They're all in the incubator now. All nine eggs candled with strong red veins. I dunno why she didn't coil them - might have been a fluke. Guess we'll see in sixty days.

I've seen photos, and had something similar happen -- Cloe laid all of her eggs together, but in a cool part of her tub and didn't show any wrapping or defensive behavior. Sometimes a female is stressed and doesn't feel safe enough to lay in a nest. Or if she's new at it, it might not have "clicked." They're not all great moms.

I have seen it before, the eggs candled fine and hatched just fine too.
