The doors are hinged on the outer side edge, you would unlock, towards the center of cage, inner side of door, and swing it out to open. Like your left door you would unlock, and swing out to the left. Same with the right. picture the way your front door swings open. Being blind, those may stink for you, as you will have a door you don't want to break hanging out in the open. The only thing I liked about the boaphiles was the drop down door. I really like that, as it would be out of your way. However, going with AP, that wasn't an option. I don't care for the sliding doors, as if you don't get them locked properly, the snake can slide them open and escape. I know more than one person this happened too. I didn't like the idea, as my daughter handles the snakes as well, and didn't want to risk it not getting shut and locked right. So I opted for the side swing out doors. Which I like, as cleaning is easy, as well as accessing a 6' snake, lol.
And you may double check, as I don't know if all boaphile cages have the drop down doors. But I believe that is the only door option they have.
