    Best for female ball?

I need help picking a cage; because I’m blind, pictures do me no good.
I can’t put my hands on them to see which one I like the best, so I’m coming here to people who have experience with the cages to help out.

I’m looking to buy a cage for my female ball, and I’m trying to decide between the T8 from AnimalPlastic or the 421D from Boaphile.
I am aware of the customer service controversy with Boaphile, but I am not letting that affect my decision.
I am aware of the price difference, that’s not an issue.
I want to know details about build quality, appearances, and those types of things… I plan on having a RHP installed if it comes from Boaphile, and if you suggest the t8, I will have a RHP shipped to them and installed.
Definitely want black, and I think I will have keyed locks just as a precaution from small children or anything else.
That’s pretty much the background of the cages I’ve been looking at.

    Any help will be great!

    Thanks,
    Amanda

Personally I would never give boaphile my business or money. I have some AP cages. Granted mine are T20's and for my boas. But I really like them. They look very nice. And they are actually rather light for how large they are.

Another thing you might consider, is door opening orientation. I'm not sure if the boaphile has another option than the drop down doors. AP you can get side swing out, or sliding doors.

I seen a cage at a show recently, not sure of brand or model, because I wasn't that interested at the time...
but it did have a drop down front door, and I liked that.
So, you are saying the Boaphile cages are like that?
What do you mean when you say "swing out", on the AP cages?

    Thanks,
    Amanda

    Re: Best for female ball?

The doors are hinged on the outer side edge, you would unlock, towards the center of cage, inner side of door, and swing it out to open. Like your left door you would unlock, and swing out to the left. Same with the right. picture the way your front door swings open. Being blind, those may stink for you, as you will have a door you don't want to break hanging out in the open. The only thing I liked about the boaphiles was the drop down door. I really like that, as it would be out of your way. However, going with AP, that wasn't an option. I don't care for the sliding doors, as if you don't get them locked properly, the snake can slide them open and escape. I know more than one person this happened too. I didn't like the idea, as my daughter handles the snakes as well, and didn't want to risk it not getting shut and locked right. So I opted for the side swing out doors. Which I like, as cleaning is easy, as well as accessing a 6' snake, lol.

And you may double check, as I don't know if all boaphile cages have the drop down doors. But I believe that is the only door option they have.

So, I called Jeff Friday morning and got him on the first try. He seemed nice, and answered the few questions I had. So, I went ahead and ordered 2 421Ds. 1 for my ball and 1 for my boa.

We'll see how it goes from here!
