    Snake Rack Accessories

Hi Gang, quick question about my rack I built. 41qt tubs 6" belly heat and Herp 4 stat. The question is should I have a hide on both cool and warm sides? I see breeders that only have a warm hide and a water bowl. I made a water bowl hide on the cool side and have a warm hide as well. Here is the pic. Thanks in advance and any and all info appreciated.

I have hides on both cool and warm sides, and all three of my boys use both. The water bowl is in the middle, off to one side, and the humidity is perfect.

    How large is your snake?

I do not use any hides in my 41s at all

I have 6 snakes all ranging from 160gr to 600gr all doing great and eating.
If you have no hides you just have a water bowl then?

If I have adult snakes in a 41 rack that are eating fine I do not use hides. A good dark tub in a rack serves as a hide.

As you can see the tubs aren't very high. can you keep an adult bp in this size tub? I just didn't want to built to many racks and honestly this is my first rack and did it my self and not sure how it would work out.

    New 41q rack

41q on the far left and the other 3 are 28q.

I keep everything in 28s and females move to 41s when they hit about 1200 grams. I do have a couple males that are over 2000g in 41s.

A 41 really is too big for juvies and smaller unless you really clutter it.

What size heat tape do you use on your 41s?
