A couple of weeks ago I made, what I though was, a successful change from live p/k to f/t. Well, Amber decided she was not interested in frozen mice for the last week or so, with feeding attempts every 2 or 3 days. When I placed her in her eating box, she'd clearly go into hunt model; but wouldn't strike at the dead mouse.

I gave her a twitching adult mouse yesterday that she took with a fury like I had never seen before. She must have been hungry.....

Either way, could I be stuck with a BP that will never eat f/t?

    Fickle BP, imagine that!

Either way, could I be stuck with a BP that will never eat f/t?
There is allways a possibillity........I have a 3 year old BP that still refuses f/t - f/k. I guess im destined to monitor every feeding and to be prepared to intervene if necessary.

I'm just getting irritated because I've been bit a few times by the mice, not to mention it urinated in the box it was in, which was on the passenger seat of my car. Luckily I had some febreeze, but still; dealing with live mice is stinky and just plain annoying.

If she has taken f/t, she'll take it again. You just need to be patient with her. It's a good idea to make them wait a little longer for their food for the first few f/t feedings to make sure they're hungry (like going from a 7 day cycle to a 9 day cycle until they've eaten f/t several times). Also, if she doesn't eat a meal, wait at least until the next regularly scheduled mealtime, or you can end up stressing her out so she doesn't want to eat -- I made that mistake myself before.
