    Introducing new female?

I want to introduce my new little female to my established gals. They are sisters (a pair) and they play fight, squeak, and get crazy all the time. I put the new girl in and heard A LOT of squeaking... It scared me enough to pull the little girl out (she's maybe 75g lighter than the sisters). She doesn't have any visual injuries... Should I just leave them together and let them scare her? I feel bad she's so small and sweet! a

Punkin (one of the sisters) is SUCH a brat!

    Re: Introducing new female?

I went through this each time I introduced a new female. They will sound like they are killing each other for a few days, then they will establish dominance and everyone will place nice. I had one who was a huge instigator but after about 3 days, I noticed that they roughhousing decreased substantially. I never saw injuries on my girls either. It was more vocal than anything.

Clean the entire cage and wash all bedding to make it smell as neutral as possible.

Introduce the new baby first to the cage, then your two girls. This gives them a sense of going onto the baby's territory. Also, could give all 3 baths to smell the same and dab a drop of vanilla extract onto their noses before the reintroduction.
