LEUCISTIC ALLIGATORS and more! Audubon Zoo, New Orleans, LA

We visited our local zoo recently, and captured some nice photos. My absolute favorite animals and highlight (to me) of the entire trip were the leucistic alligators. Absolutely breathtaking to see in person. The clutch these two came from was discovered in Houma, LA sometime in the 1980's. A few stayed here, and I believe some went to other states to be displayed as well. I will also throw up a few of some other various reptiles we photographed at the zoo as well. Hope you all enjoy!

For anyone making a visit to or passing through the south, be sure to stop in N'walins and go check out the serpentarium, and the Cajun Swamp exhibit. Wed. and Thurs. are the best days to visit as the crowds aren't bad and that's when they feed some of the snakes, lucy gators, and 711 the 12'7 beast of a gator!

It was a memorable experience getting to see the Bushmaster slam into, dig deep, and give that P/K rat everything he had! His entire head deflated as he unloaded into his prey item!

They also have an AMAZING program focused on the preservation of the threatened/endangered Louisiana pine snake. They had an entire breeding facility devoted to re-cooping their numbers! They had very colorful and diverse examples of the LA. Pine... some of the best I've ever seen!
