Aaaaaaand i'm addicted
So I only got my first BP last week and since then I literally haven't been able to stop researching, reading forums, watching videos on youtube. Anything!
I already want to get a second snake to (potentially) breed with my Female Lesser down the line. What male would you guys recommend to hopefully get something cool in the clutch?
Thanks!

Welcome to your support group. Don't be in a huge hurry to get a male unless your female is already up to size. Females take a lot longer to mature. I would also recommend a 2-3 gene male, some of these can be had at a quite reasonable price. I'm not going to give advise on morphs, too many choices. World of ball pythons morph calculator will be very useful to you. I would start by find some base single gene morphs you like, then use the calculator to start combining genes until you hit that magic combo that just wows you. Then just look for that specific combo, and get the best example of it you can.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Really appreciate the response Darkbird.
My Lesser only weighs about 120g at the moment so is still a baby. I imagine i'm going to have to wait a year or more to breed right? How long does it take for her to reach sexual maturity?

Re: Aaaaaaand i'm addicted
Depends on how well they eat. The recommendation is to wait until the female is at least 1500 grams and entering her third winter. I would look for a Pastave or Pastel Mystic male personally.

Yes, generally the rules I hear and go by are 1500g for females and 500g for males. Females may go their second season, males may go their first, but better to wait for the 3rd season for females. This is why I said be patient on getting the male. You have easily a year, even 2 if your really patient, and you may get another female or 2 (or 3 or 4 or 8......) before then and that may affect your decision.
