Paint, or Nazca, or Sentinel, or Speckled... X Granite

Has anyone done a pairing of a Paint/Nazca/Sentinel/Speckled with a Granite? I'm wondering if the Paint x Granite produces a "super"--basically if they're allelic.

I have a Granite Woma Lesser female that's just starting her breeding. I'm pairing a Paint Calico with her. I'm curious if anyone else has tried to see if the above mentioned are allelic.

My other choice of male to pair her with (from what I have here) would either be a Lesser Spark, a Phantom Spinner, or an Enchi Bee.

I would say that is a very complicated questPaint/Nazca/Sentinel/Speckled ion. While Paint/Nazca/Sentinel/Speckled are all "Granite" like in the heterozygous form, and very similar looking in the homozygous form (therefore quite possibly different lines of the same gene, though they could turn out to be like Cinnamon and Black Pastel), has there been any documentation of people breeding them together to test compatibility (I do know of 1 breeder breeding Paint to Sentinel this season and hoping to have results this summer)? So adding that variable to the extreme variability of what people call Granite, you would be hard pressed to have any results that you could be confident in. A first question would be "Which line of Granite are you using?" Another variable to take into consideration is if the line of Granite that you are using is a dominant line or incomplete dominate (since Paint/Nazca/Sentinel/Speckled are incomplete dominate)? I think it is a very interesting question, but I wonder how long and how many pairings it would take to get results that are statisically significant?

I would like to see Lesser Spark (since the Paint/Nazca/Sentinel/Speckled make some great Yellowbelly combinations). The possible pairings include Spider, which may make identifying Paint/Nazca/Sentinel/Speckled animals difficult.

That essentially is my question, if they are compatible. It's likely that they are the same gene--at least the paint/nazca/sentinel/speckled.

When I talk of "granite", I don't mean a "dominant" trait. I mean the genetic granite that has a super, which among the ball python world is referred to as "co-dom".

I don't really want to do lesser spark because of the possibility of blue eyed lucy. Each BEL would have the possibility of having the spark, granite, and/or woma genes. How would one go about pricing them? Without breeding it back out of them, there would be no way of knowing if the spark or granite genes would be present, and likely not even the woma--even with a black light.

Phantom spinner may not be a good choice for the same reason as the lesser spark. Another male I have is a satin. That could make some cool combos, too.

I'm sorry, I switched the genetics of the male and female. I thought it would be a male Lesser Spark and a female Calico Paint. I totally agree that risking a BEL is not worth it. Now that you've clarified which Granite you have, why not try a breeding to help test the compatibility? I think that if you choose not to breed the male Paint Calico, the male Satin would be a real good choice, seeing how it is a relatively new gene with fewer existing combinations. This thread should be very interesting.

I think I'll go for the Paint Calico male. Can't go wrong with the calico combo possibilities. It would be quite the bonus to see that the Paint and Granite are compatible. Here's hoping!
