    The new install



    I think it looks ok. Easier to maintain than vivs. It will do until I can afford a racking system.

    Going to shorten the poles aswell.

    How do other rubs get heated?? As the rubs are also plastic?? So I don't think any vapours are given off. If anyone's got any other ideas

    No, at the temps heatmats run (on T-stats) for BP, they are not going to melt, warp, or cause the plastic to give off vapors.

    I actually had this worry until it was pointed out to me that the temperatures we keep BP at are lower than human body temperature. Thinking of it that way - yeah. It's not really hot enough for that kind of thing.

    I have the same exact shelf that I use for hatchlings. I ran a 4inch strip of flexwatt towards the back of each shelf and it works great. Not as space efficient as a real rack but it works. And no vapors will be given off unless it's on fire...
