1) Why wouldn't you?
2) Some snakes don't just get a bowl, they get a tub.

Y
I know a lot of people will say its not required and I might even agree with them. However look at most of the big breeders, you would think if water bowls where not a good thing they would not spend all the time it takes to constantly be filling/changing them out.

Yes of course, it is ridiculous not too. While BP's get most of the water they need from the rodents they eat that doesn't mean that they don't need access to fresh water.
I see all of my BP's drink from their water dish on a regular basis
If a BP is on a feeding strike their only source of water is a water dish in the cage. They will die of dehydration long before they do of hunger.
A water dish will help humidify the cage, and provide a place where they can cool down if necessary. Further changing/refilling the water dishes on a regular basis is a good way to make sure your snake is healthy and your cage/heating system is functioning properly. There is absolutely no good reason not to have a water dish in the cage.

Good point when I had one boy go on strike this year for about 3/4 months thru this time he was given fresh water everyday since he was not eating

I dunno. I'm sure they could do okay without water dishes here since I'm in the south and our humidity's pretty high, but I see mine drink quite a bit (not excessively, but I see them drink). They're such simple animals anyway, I'd feel kind of crappy taking away something as basic as water that they DO interact with/use, you know? And it isn't as though it's hard to keep them clean and filled.
Then again, I have 2 - not 200.

Re: who uses water bowls and who dont
Mine eats well and drinks even better. I see her drinking almost every night. She doesn't soak her entire body, but she does crawl through it like it's not even there. I was in Petco today and saw a BP soaking in the dish. Probably has something to do with them not keeping the humidity high enough!!
