It took a while to thaw and warm the food up, but by the time it was ready he was roaming the cage looking for it. I didn't think about it until later, but I bet this had the same effect of barbequing a nice juicy burger in the back yard, it stunk up the whole room! Afterwards I dangled the rat in front of him with tongs. He never missed a feeding, and half the time he was crawling up the wall waiting for me to open the tank.
That is similar to what I do. I let the rat defrost over the day in the room and then heat it up with a hair drier for a few minutes prior to feeding. He had never seemed interested in feeding at all, this time I saw him staring at the rat and smelling him. As I said, it took a while before he actually git the courage to strike it. Made my day when he did.
