    I don't think its even up for debate anymore that they are the same thing

    They are only slightly different.
    I have a butter that looks like a super light lesser.
    And from what I've seen in the butters influence in combos. ... I would say they are different.
    Lesser bees and butter bees look slightly different and
    Also pastel lessers and butter pastels differ alot
