I was talking to someone who was normally very rational and intelligent last night and was informed that pythons will continue to grow their whole lives and, the actual wtf part, have the capacity to become enormous. Yup! My grandmother once told me she's worried my ball pythons (because they are *gasp* PYTHONS!) will eat my 2 year old daughter... I very calmly explained to her the biggest animal these snakes are a danger to is a rat, and even then they probably won't be able to tackle a full grown rat. She hasn't mentioned that fear again since then. Not sure if its because I convinced her, or because she just decided it wasn't worth arguing with me over.
