Help with humidity please.
I've been trying to get husbandry right in a new reptile basics sweaterbox rack. I've got a divider in the tub with accurite thermometers on both sides. They both started out reading around 75-78%. Over the last few days I've put about 14 holes down all four sides of the tub(56 total holes) and I've still got about 68-70%. There's one of the smallest water bowls that reptile basics sells on each side. On a brighter note, the temps are perfect. Any help would be appreciated. Afraid I'm gonna cut the top off the tub with so many holes. Lol.

68%-70% really isn't that bad. Worst case you shouldn't have any issues long term. The parts of Africa where BP's come from gets very humid 90% +

What substrate are you using?

Thanks. Just paper towels.

If you are using paper towels then the answer is more holes. On an enclosed rack the only holes that are going to make a big difference are the ones on the front of the tub exposed to the air in the room.

Re: Help with humidity please.
So can I put multiple rows of holes? Have any idea why it's so high? I've never seen anyone with that many. Plus I have a ceramic heater in the room keeping room temps up to about 75° you'd think that would cut humidity down.

Honestly, I'd keep it as it.
68-70% sounds good. I try to keep mine around 70% regardless of shed or not. The area in Africa they come from isn't as dry as most think. They come from a rather humid area and I think 50% like the caresheet says here is too low in my opinion.

Humidity
I am not expert, but have a happy and healthy Albino Spider Female.
I keep her around 62-64% most of the time and up to about 70% when she is going to shed.
Zero respiratory issues and a complete shed every time.
Again, I have one snake and do not breed, so I am not sure how humidity would impact breeding. Just speaking from my perspective.

Re: Help with humidity please.
I had to put 30 holes in my tubs to keep it from being 80-99% lol and even with the 30 holes it will stay in the high 60's & low 70's. I have to agree with others and say that I higher humidity isn't harmful unless of course you temps are ridiculously low.

If you want them down try maybe a smaller water bowl or not fill it as much and see what you get.
