    un-shed eye caps

Phred had his very first shed. For the most part, it was very successful (one solid piece)! However, I noticed today while weighing him that his eye caps are still in place. How do you get those to come loose??? Is there anything I can do to help or do I just have to wait?

    Thanks,
    LadyByrd

    Re: un-shed eye caps

I had that happen to couple of my bp's and I let them go til the next shed. They came off the next shed. Yours might also. My normal looked like cracked glass on time. Came off next time though. Keep an "eye" on them and see what happens next time.

His looks like cracked glass as well. It was his very first shed ever, so I am probably being a bit over protective. He's just so darn tiny that I want everything to be perfect for him.

The best thing to do is make sure your humidity is spot on perfect from now on. If you do, there is a very high likelihood that they will come off with the next shed. Please resist the urge to mess with them or try and help get them off. Bad things can happen when you go messing around with their eye caps. Good Luck

Just a quick update on Phred. He finished his second shed and the eye caps popped right off this time! Thanks to everybody who offered advice. His colors are changing slightly as he sheds more, but I assume that is normal. He has a slight head stamp that gets more prominent each time he sheds.
