Certified Fedex shipper vs reptile shipping company?
I was just wondering if being a certified fedex shipper will actually be cheaper than using reptile shipping company. I used reptile express 2 weeks ago to ship a 600g bp from california to new jersey for 60$. Is it worth it to become a certified shipper? I think both can get the job done if packed the snake correctly, so cheaper shipping rate is better in my opinion. Any thoughts on this?

Only if you are able to negotiate a large volume discount with FedEx.

As mentioned unless you have the volume , then no it will not be cheaper, you will actually pay more.
Being certified however May be a good idea just in case.
I am certified however I never use my account.

With your own FedEx account, you would negotiate your own discount, if they offer any, with FedEx. At ShipYourReptiles we offer 20% off the FedEx rate right from the start.
We also offer other features and benefits that you can't get with FedEx directly, including the approval to ship to residential addresses (FedEx live reptile accounts are limited to B2B only) and our SYR On-Time and Live Arrival Insurance, which no one else offers.
We have terrific customer service, a level of service higher and more personal than the 1-800 FedEx number, and we offer a micro-donation feature allowing you to donate as little as 50 cents per shipment to USARK and PIJAC, to protect our future not just to ship reptiles, but to keep them period.

That's what i thought. Wasn't sure why be certified if I can go to SYR for a discounted price. So if I ship in large quantities, the fedex may give me a discount? Do you offer discounts if I ship in large quantities (I most likely will not have any large shipment, but I'm just curious about it)?

You're already getting the discount because you're piggybacking on their account.

We have set the opening SYR discount at the rate we were getting as Pro Exotics billing $30,000 with UPS/FedEx per year.
