    Question Post-ovulation Handling and Aggression?

First season breeding and very excited!

But I'm wondering how much handling is acceptable post-ovulation? It has been a few days and my big girl is no longer swollen but I don't want to cause any unnecessary stress. Would it be best to confine her to her tub for the next month or so, or can I have her out for short periods of time?

I am also wondering if females tend to get more nippy/aggressive during this time? She struck at me for the first time while tending to her cage the other day - nothing serious, seemed to be a warning as she let me weigh her shortly after without fuss.

    Thanks!

I would avoid handling her at all until after she lays her eggs and is back on food. I would to anything to avoid causing her extra stress.

    Re: Post-ovulation Handling and Aggression?

My first year breeding as well. And I've tried to leave my girl alone as much as possible. She only comes out for tub cleaning, during which she sits on the bed, then back in her tub. Let that momma be to do her magic!
