Very Lucky
A few weeks ago I decided I wanted a new pet. I've always liked snakes but never knew how friendly they can be and how incredibly easy and inexpensive they are to take care of. I did a boat load of research on different beginner snakes and found that ball pythons really struck my interest. While researching, I saw that my local pet store was having a sale on their two baby ball pythons for $45. I couldn't resist. So I pulled the trigger and drove to the store to handle each of them to find out which one I preferred. I ended up choosing the male who was younger/smaller of the two and named him Bruce (I'm a big Batman fan, "Bruce Wayne").
I love him to death. I handle him frequently and he has never even attempted to bite me, the only thing that makes him skittish is if I touch his head, he will then quickly pull his head away and rest it in a different position. He loves to curl up in my hand or on my lap and hang out with me. I couldn't have asked for a more docile and relaxed BP.
When doing research I found that BPs can sometimes be finicky about eating, but Bruce's feeding response has been awesome. I have fed him 5 fuzzies so far and he immediately gobbles them down without hesitation. This makes me feel good because now I know that I am taking proper care of him and I am not stressing him out.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you guys and start being active in the BP community (since this is my first post). I'll post a few pictures of my little dude below.
