Which for me is a huge deal because I've spent a good portion of my life scared of spiders. The last year or so I've been making myself face it and get over it and I feel like I pretty much have. I got a G. Rosea. Not the original species I wanted for my first. I wanted to get a B. vagans or a G. pulchripes first. However they are IMPOSSIBLE to find locally around here. I am going to have to wait until it warms up (if it ever does) to get one shipped. I was willing to wait but this ended up being too tempting. It was on a local facebook group for 10 dollars, with the enclosure. Yeah, kinda hard to pass that up lol. Not sure if it's a male or female but I'm calling it Peanut because the name works either way. Here are a couple of quick pics I took before I left it alone to settle in.
The enclosure.
Excuse my craft table I used to take the pictures. It's a mess lol. Thanks for looking![]()

Congrats on the new pet! I would say by the size of its abdomen an relative leg span vs body size it is PROBABLY a female. that is in no way a certainly but i've had and seen several hundred G rosea and after a while it just gets kinda easy to get a decent educated guess on the sex of them. but there's always a few that fool ya. The only sure fired way to sex it is via a molt. Enjoy her she's very lovely!
