When you try and get your viv humid I understand you need to sometimes spray down the substrate. But with aspen, if I do this, will it get soggy?

I think what they are referring to is just misting in the enclosure. I wouldn't spray down aspen bedding. Coco fiber bedding does hold the humidity better than aspen. You could even keep a tiny bit of damp sphagnum moss to help bump up your humidity.

If you spray it too much it can. Aspen also has a tendency to get moldy when wet. However you really shouldn't be misting the cage enough for this to be an issue. If you are you should consider switching to another more humidity friendly substrate like cypress mulch or Eco-Earth.

Use a bigger water bowl, or place another smaller one on the warm side. Or give your snake a humid hide, filled with damp moss or paper towel.
