Provent a mite advise!
I've been having issues w mites. I've been treating every 2 weeks with Provent o mite and Reptile Spray. I read on the PAM that it's not to be used in tubs or cages without substrate. Since I've had the mite issues I've had everyone on newspaper. How am I supposed to use the PAM in my tubs with only newspaper???

I've used it and had no side effects on tubs with paper. Just let the stuff dry before you put the snake back in.

Make sure if you're using racks that you're treating them as well. Mites like to hide. Pull all the tubs, and spray down the rack inside and out.

Keep a supply of PAM-treated newspaper on hand, just make sure the treated paper has dried before replacing soiled newspaper with clean treated paper when your snake makes a mess. Same with the hides - keep treated and dried ones available to replace any your snake may soil, and then clean and re-treat the soiled ones.
Also, the Reptile Spray can be used every 3 days. Instead of spraying it directly on the snakes my vet suggested spraying it onto a paper towel and then wiping the snakes with it. You end up using less, it's not as stressful for the snake (mine absolutely hate to be sprayed), you can see the mites on the paper towel, and you can make sure you get the product where the mites really like to congregate like under their chin and around the vent while avoiding getting any into their eyes.
