I used 3/4" White Thermally Fused Laminate Panel also known as Melamine lol. All joints were made using a dado or rabbit, joined with water proof adhesives, and sealed with white(non moldicide) silicone.

I have had standing water in them with no issues. Big snakes knock over water tubs on a regular basis. However I would not let it sit in there like that for long just to be safe.

Ya believe it or not that cage was plywood lol. I just finished it off really nice lol.

No he didn't haha. Moved him from a MCB-S 13.5qt to a sterilite 41qt rack and now he thinks he has a territory lol.

I've been wanting to set up a reptile room using just ambient temps. What temp do you keep the room at to ensure good health? Do you also use a Humidifier for the entire room, or control each enclosures humidity individually?

I've been wanting to set up a reptile room using just ambient temps. What temp do you keep the room at to ensure good health? Do you also use a Humidifier for the entire room, or control each enclosures humidity individually?

I keep my t - stat at 87°F and warmer species up high and cooler species down low, although the fan does a pretty good job of keeping the warm air well circulated from top to bottom. Everything poops at regular intervals and no health issues to date from keeping things this way.

As far as humidity, I have kept the room humidified but it was too much upkeep filling the humidifier everyday, so now I just use larger water bowls/tubs and humidity stays pretty constant at 68% in the tubs and enclosures. All tubs and all enclosures use the same size water bowl given their respective size, after a lot of tweaking to find the perfect surface area to get the desired humidity.
