Question for those that have witnessed the cycle?

Does the pre-voyage shed start the 6 week building period, or does it come after? I assume that's when it starts; however, I haven't found anything conclusive. The reason why I care much is I've been breeding a female since December and she's starting a shed cycle, and the timing seems right. Thank you!

They build up before ovulating. First they "build" the follicles up to become large, then ovulation occurs when the follicles have become fertilized and left the ovaducts. After ovulation they shed then lay eggs.

I know about the pre-lay shed, but what about the pre-ovy shed?

I don't think that all females do a pre-ovulation shed. It's not nearly as reliable as the pre-lay shed is.

My bee got a rather pale shade of yellow. I was expecting I vibrant "glow" not a washed out shade. But this is my first year, and only ovy.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.
