I dont think any one company has the magic forulmula everybody is always looking for. If anybody could find the magic system for short lead time, large catalog of products in caging and racks, high quality, and low prices they'd put everyone out of business.
Their is a tradeoff with everything, and a company that can fit your unique expectations. One person might think its crazy to spend a grand on cages and it take a
8 weeks to show up, but those cages are move in ready as soon as I open the boxes. On the flip side I think its crazy to pay someone just to cut a few sheets of PVC, pre drill some holes, throw some hardware in the box and charge separately for shipping. To each his own
I think some of the guys with longer lead times just need to be more up front about it. Its the old saying "under promise, over deliver" if jeff and AP said 8-12 weeks from the get go nobody would complain when it shows up at exactly 8 weeks.
