About a few weeks ago I was drunk and had left my Ball in a medium sized tree in my room over night. When I woke up he was no were to be found and I had searched my room high and low. About a week later my cat had alerted me, and all of a sudden it came crawling out of my heating vent. I felt lucky but i was soon to find out my snake was very sick.. It was bubbling at the mouth so i decided to take it to the vet. The vet gave me anti-biotic shots (FORTAZ) which i was to inject inside him every 3 days.. Eventualy he got better , went through a shed and everything seemed fine.. BUT HE HASNT EATEN YET! ... its been about 3-4 weeks and I dont know if its the medication, or just him recovering but his living conditions are really good and ever since he came crawling out of my heater he hasnt had an appetite... The vet said he might not eat for a while but im starting to get worried.. Anybody have any words of incouragement that can get me through this stressfull time or tell me whats going on? ...

My Ball Just Recovered From RI... Help!!

All I can really tell you is that BP's commonly go off feed for long periods of time. Sometimes they do it on their own accord but usually it happens when they have gone through a stressful time. Obviously all of what your snake has gone through has been intensely stressful. Just make sure that you keep the snake's living space where it has to be. Keep the warm side between 90-95F & the cool side between 78-82F. Make sure your snake's humidity is 50% all the time. Make sure you have a hide on each side. Other than that, so long as the snake does not start to lose a significant amount of weight & especially muscle tone, you just have to wait out the hunger strike. It is probable that your little friend is still recovering from this whole ordeal.

The best advice I can give... DON'T HANDLE YOUR SNAKE WHILE DRUNK!
Life is like a game of poker. You can play each hand to the best of your ability but you are still going to run into a bad beat from time to time. What matters is how you handle it. Do you go on tilt or can you maintain your composure & rebuild your stack?

My humidity stays between 50-65% since I have a humidifer in the room ... I have a hidebox on both sides of my 20 gallon tank so i try to keep the living conditions stable. I hope he starts to eat soon , thanks for your post, it made me feel a bit better about my lil guys hunger strike

Its probably still recovering from the ordeal. Just keep trying every two weeks until he starts eating again. I would recomend that you up the temps during this time and the humidity levels sound good. And don't be handling snakes when ur drunk
