Switching to f/t
Hi guys, I found a very nice looking ball python with her tank and accessories for sale. I am almost completely sold on her, but there is one issue- she only eats live. She is around a year and a half and her owner said that she eats live mice no problem, but will not eat "dead" (not sure if they mean fresh killed or f/t?) even though they say she won't take it, what do you guys think about trying to switch her over? I reaaallly do not want to feed live.

Re: Switching to f/t
If you are not ready to feed live don't buy the animal.
There are many threads that cover this topic.
You might be able to flip it to F/T but maybe not and if not,
you will have to feed live.
It's better for your sake and the animals if you pass and find one on F/T already.

You can always try but there is NO guarantee that a snake will ever switch, patience, tough love are often the key.
If you get this animal first feed live during acclimation once your new BP eats for you with consistency try to switch, it may work right away,it may take several weeks or it might never happen.
The only way to know is to try, and if the animal refuses the first couple of F/T feeding don't give up or give in, do not offer live, offer F/T again until it works or until you finally give up.

Okay, thank you guys. I think I will pass on her then. I'd rather buy one that is more likely to eat f/t.
