    Yes his name is dexter and I have a towel between the bottom of the tank and the pad to keep it the perfect temp! Not too hot not too cold!

    I agree with NH93. A thermostat is a MUST when dealing with any UTH. Having a towel between the UTH and the bottom of the tank is not ideal and might be a fire hazard. You can get a Hydrofarm thermostat for like $35 bucks on Amazon. It's definitely worth not having your snake hurt.
