Heres the thing, some males might sexually mature smaller. But most ppl say breed at 500 + grams because many males won't eat while breeding. So a animal a couple hhundred grams could drop a dangerous amount of weight. I recently paired a 400 gram male, but only did so because he eats like a monster and has continued doing so while he is breeding.
had that prob with my butter he was just over 500 eating like a pig once I paired him up he stopped eating last I weighted he only lost like 20 grams or so he was down to like 495 or something but I stopped pairing him and he still wont eat been like 2 months .. my other guy I threw in to complete the job is slamming what ever I throw his was ... its the most annoying thing .. anyways I was just reading a article with a 395g 5 months getting the job done
