Humidity help please!
Mya's viv is at 80% humidity!
Way too high!
Is it because I've used orchid bark? Is there a way to get humidity down without changing substrate or will I need to change it to say beech chips?

Re: Humidity help please!
Just keep the doors on the viv open for a while, it should dry things out before you get your snake. Just mist VERY little when needed to hit 60%.

Re: Humidity help please!
Thanks.
Have opened viv up and have been advised the substrate will dry out and in turn humidity will reduce too.
Waterbowl already at cool end

Yeah it should do. Your room will probably be about 50% humidity, give or take 10%. This will help a lot
Also, is the new viv you set up recently?

Re: Humidity help please!
Sometimes the substrate right out of the bag is too moist and needs to dry out a little before adding to a enclosure without heat lamps.

This is just what I was hinting at above, think it may be the issue. I had it too. Give it 3 or 4 days and it will be completely dry.

Re: Humidity help please!
Yes I think this is the case.
It's really wet straight out of the bag.
Should be ok by the weekend
I need to pop my heating on constant too as cool end is only 20.5C Have discovered this is more cost effective anyway and hopefully will only need it over the colder months.
So if room will be warmer then that should help dry bark out too
Thanks all x

Like I said, I got rainforest bark and it felt dry out of the box but still gave off tons of water! There was condensation on his glass every morning for a few days.
Just wait for it to dry out, get the temps up a tad and it will be a great place for her
