Well the Royal has arrived folks. 8 month old male normal. I had a quick hold of him before letting him rest in my tank and he was so placid and relaxed. It was the first time Ive even touched a snake and I wasn't frightened at all. Infact I had trouble putting him down in the tank ! He slithered straight into the warm hide and has been there since 1pm. Popped his head out once or twice - once for a nosey, second for a yawn.

    Love the little fella.

It hasn't been easy setting up his tank. Temps being the biggest issue. I had to opt for a bigger heat mat and that did the job nicely. Still a bit nervous as its my first snake.

Greetings from a snowy and cold... Georgia USA? Yeah its blizzard 2014 here.. which means about 2 inches on the ground but its enough to shut down the entire state.

Anywho! Grats on your new baby! I got all the things I need for my new snake but I can't decide which one I want either. Ball python, African House Snake, or Children's Python. Sooo many choices and then you add the morphs and my brain is sizzled. I gotta figure this thing out so when it warms up I can have my baby shipped to me. Let's see them pictures soon!

Hey I know, we just have rain here. I wouldn't mind a touch of snow, but not a blizzard ! I was very undecided about which snake to get, but after holding my little Royal - it was game over. We have a winner ! Yes I will definitely try to grab a pic or two when he appears hopefully later today. I wish I had the camera to hand earlier when he yawned.

Hello everyone, I am also new here and I am thinking to raise a ball python now.
A very silly question. what does 1.0 0.1 mean, I saw a lot of them. Do they mean female and male?

Re: Greetings from a cold and windy Wales

He has not kept still tonight, by far his most active night since he arrived home Tuesday. He is right at the front of the tank doing laps watching me ! I plan on feeding him this Sunday, as this is when he was last fed at the store. I don't know if this nosey behaviour is normal for a new snake ?
