Seems like theres been a lot of talk about snake poo lately. I'm going to go ahead and share this then.

So right now I'm doped up on red bull studying for a final, pretty quiet in the room. I start hearing a sort of squishing noise- I thought one of the cats was having an accident on the floor. Turn around, no cats in the room. Its coming from the snake's tank. So there's Amber, basically sitting there just farting, making that sound. I mean this is like LOUD for something that doesn't even weigh but a few pounds. At the end of all this, she passes a urate right before my eyes- and ears.

Snakes are not completely silent. They make bathroom noises too.

Atreyu has gotten me twice...once while laying in bed watching tv, and once while on a walk picking the kid up from school. Luckily we were almost in the door to home! Talk about YUK!

speaking of taking the snake on a walk, have any of you ever had bad experiences taking the snake in public? The day I bought my snake I had to go back to work to pick up the needed supplies for his tank and I had people complain to the manager that they should not allow snakes into the store. BTW this was coming from a couple who had a dog with them...and dogs are not allowed and it clearly states such.

I have brought a snake out in public once and got great feedback (except for a couple "moms"). But I don't think I will ever do that again. It just puts stress on the snake, and they could EASILY catch diseases, especially if you bring them to a pet store or something. Just my $0.02.

I geuss they don't know that, statistically speaking, they are WAY more likely to get mauled by a dog than to get snakebitten. And snakes don't bite you unless you thoughtlessly provoke 'em, while I have seen cases where dogs attack unprovoked.

Yeah, we just had an incident at another store where a customer got bit by another customer's dog, and we got sued!! So now no big dogs are allowed only small ones, unless they seem like they might bite.
