If you're considering a BP, why get a T10 rather than a T8?

The T8 would save you money, no?

I agree with pretty much everything said above, except that I'm not a big fan of the lights that AP provides. They come in a sort of opaque housing that softens the light too much, and to me it looks like a flashback scene in a soap opera or something.

What I've done with my T8s is to have them drill the hole and put in the screws as though the light was included, but not actually include the light unit. Then, being the aquarium freak that I am, I instead mounted my own low profile 6500k 12'' LED strips and moonlights on the top panel of the enclosure. Aside from having a better looking fixture, providing better looking light for less electricity and never needing a bulb change, they're also generally pretty water-resistant or waterproof, making them easier for cage cleanings.
