What's it mean if a ball python stops exploring?

My female ball python recently stopped her nightly expeditions to the top of her climb and her incessant escape attempts. I took her out the other day to check on her and she wasn't weak, but she definitely wasn't very active. As of today, I haven't seen her out of her hide in two days and three nights. This is my first winter with snakes and all the hibernating and bedding down my colurbrids are doing is really freaky, but as far as i know bps aren't really supposed to do that. Is this normal?

Is she in her shed cycle? I know my little guy hides more when he's about to shed.

What are the temps like in her enclosure?

Based SOLELY on what you've given us to work with, I'm guessing she's about to shed.

Temps, humidity, hides (location and #), feeding consistency (or lack thereof) will give us more of a clear picture to give a more accurate answer.

It really just means your doing a good job and she's settling down. If a ball python is always roaming it usually means she's uncomfortable and trying to get out.

A hiding ball python is a happy ball.
They should be hiding 90% of the time.

Is she a new snake? If so, the roaming could just be her checking out her new home.
Ball Pythons are not active snakes like Colubrids.
So her not being active, is her finally relaxing and adjusting successfully.

Sounds like a happy BP with a shed cycle coming her way soon. For me, I don't worry until they START to roam all over the place all the time.
