If that is your only snake you plan on keeping, then I would suggest a 40 gallon tank once it out grows the current one. Assuming the width of the tank is about ten inches I would say you can keep him there until it reaches 1,000 grams. I keep my hatchlings to young adults in the ARS 1075 tubs and they measure 21.5"D X 9.5"W X 3.5"H. Giving that the measurements are almost identical I would say that's a good weight to go by.
However, if you plan on getting more animals down the road I would advise you to get a rack system. If you can build your own or have someone do it for you that will save you lots of money. Rack system can get expensive if you buy them but in my opinion are the best way to go.
When I first started keeping Ball Pythons I bought aquariums/tanks thinking it was the best thing for them. Little did I know I would have a hard time keeping up with the humidity. Not only that but when it came time to cleaning them it was a hassle getting those big things out and washing them down. Another down side was the space they would take up, oh boy do I wish I had a picture of how my room looked like. I had tanks everywhere!
By the way what’s a T8?
