Asking for pics of "dwarf" locality boas
Hey guys,
I'm getting more and more interested in adding a dwarf boa to my collection. I've heard so many good things about temperament for boas in general and I think they would be a fun snake to keep... I've also heard they are great feeders and that appeals to me as well. That said, I'm small and don't think I could handle a 7-10' snake, so a locality that stays small (4-6') would better suit me.
I have seen some pics of baby locality dwarfs, but not many of adults of any of the localities. If you guys could post pics of your dwarf locality boas that would be great. I'm especially interested in comparison pics of them as babies and then as adults, etc.
Also, if you have any feedback on temperament or feeding issues that would be great too.. I've heard very contradictory things in that regard.
Thanks so much for your time and help!

Sorry, couldn't edit post:
Just wanted to add that I'm also interested in Nicaraguans (specifically hypos) and of the island boas, the corn islands look most appealing to me (I like reds and oranges, so anything with those colors tends to stand out).
I don't think the Nicaraguans are "dwarfs" but if the males stay below 5' or so, they could be an option for me.

Re: Asking for pics of "dwarf" locality boas
Nicaraguans and Sonoran boas stay typically under 6'. Males usually 4-5 feet. However, they do tend to have a nippy attitude. Nic's especially. My sonoran boy can be very hissy at times, and other times mellow.
My sonoran is still a youngin'.. so I'm hoping he becomes more docile with age and handling. He hasn't tried to bite me yet, however. Just hisses like crazy.

1.0 Spider Ringer 100% Het Pied
1.0 Blue Eye Lucy (Lesser/Mojave)
1.1 Brooks Kingsnake

1.1 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

Re: Asking for pics of "dwarf" locality boas
While not a "dwarf" species, my two adult Brazilian Rainbow Boas have topped out at around 6'. Since they're slender they also tend to weigh less than the BCI's that are the same length.

Thanks for the info guys! Snowshredder- your snakes look georgous!
I'll have to keep the temperament of the nicaraguans in mind... I'd much rather go with a locality color / pattern that I don't prefer but has a great temperament than the other way around.
