Good looking little guy. Give him some more time to settle in and digest that meal before stressing due to handling.

Congrats! I just picked up my first (two) as well. Did you happen to get it at the Manchester Reptile show? Some great snakes there at great prices. The lizards and frogs were impressive too.

I love seeing this. So many people are use to seeing the retail pet shop prices then they go to an expo and see the real world prices. The better prices can even be found from local breeders that just love the hobby.

Yes, it's an eye opener. I was shopping at chain stores for a bumblebee before finding this site. When I learned of the reptile show in December, I decided to wait. I spent the next six weeks researching vendors listed on the shows website and made a few visits to some.

I ended up up buying my late hatch 2013 bumblebee AND a Caramel Albino for a total price -$50 of just the bumblebee at my local PetCo. And I had a large selection to choose from.

Great deals on supplies too. I paid $18 for a clamping heat lamp at PetSmart on sale. One vendor had the same brand and size for $7. The thermostats I bought were $28 cheaper each.

Unfortunately, most people (like me) don't find sites like this and learn about breeders and shows, etc until after we get into the hobby

Or have a problem due to lack of knowledge of store employees.

The snakes and other reptiles are usually in much better shape, too.
