    They don't burrow per se', but they seem to like to be 'hidden' if that makes sense. In the wild they would bog down in the wet rice patties and palm plantations.

    88 is too hot and 75 is too cool.. If your thermostatically controlled see if you can't make the entire tub 82/83 degrees.. The hide looks a wee bit big to provide a snug fit.. Hides are easy to make out of any spent food containers such a parkay tubs and the likes of.. Just cut a hole in the side and your good to go.. This will also allow you to provide a wet spot or more humid micro habitat.. Not to mention once they outgrow them you can throw them away..
