My ball python tried to eat my boyfriend? Normal?
My ball python, Tiny, who I adopted this past summer is the sweetest and gentlest snake in the world and I love her dearly. I am just a tad bit confused, she wrapped around my boyfriend's hand and started squeezing rather hard. He had been handling her for the past few minutes and then I left the room to take a shower and apparently while I was gone she started to constrict his hand. My boyfriend is not angry or anything, he calmly unwrapped her and put her back into her enclosure.
Is this normal behavior? He was handling her with no problems at all and this is not the first time she has spent time with him. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding?

Did she bit him? If she didn't, she may have just been holding on because she was worried about falling. I've a had snakes wrap around me and appear to 'constrict' me, but it certainly wasn't because the snake was trying to eat me.

She was probably just trying to get a better hold so she wouldn't fall or slip.
Nothing to be worried about.

She didn't bite =) We thought it was funny and so he def. is fine. We were just confused. Sounds like it must have been about getting a stronger grip and heat. She didn't attempt to bite. Thank you guys

My carpet python used to do that to me when i first got him. He would be fine moving through my fingers the out of no where he would constrict either my fingers or my wrist

I'm sure your snake was just trying to secure themself. Hanging on.. Nothing to worry about.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

Yeah, I've had my BPs do this to me before. It's not anything to be concerned over, provided they're not around your neck.
I don't know why, but I think it feels cool when they do it. lol

Just feeling secure one of our females does that. And my carpet. Python loves to tighten up around my arm
