Anyhooo... Welcome to the site, I personally recommend ball pythons for a first snake. However corn snakes are very nice as well if you like something a little more active, and boas are great if you like something just a bit larger. Then again carpet pythons are great if you like something large and active. In any case, snakes make great pets.
Yes, I am leaning towards trying a Ball Python. They look fantastic and the general consensus is they are docile and fun pets for a beginner. Don't want something to perky. I do have question about heat mats. Ive got the Exo Terra 18 (W) 18 (D) 12 (H) terrarium and Im stumped to which size heat mat to choose - 11inch by 11inch ? or 17inch by 11inch ? Confused !
