Females are hard to find because they are usually sold quickly. And sometimes breeders will only sell a female as part of a pair. I don't know if that means Angolans in general tend to have male-heavy ratios in their clutches or if breeders tend to hold more females back, but it's true that females can be hard to come across.
When I was looking 2 years ago, there was ONE breeder at Tinley Park who had babies - but you could only buy a female if you bought a pair. There were several other breeders who had one or two available, but they were all males.
I bought my pair from Chad Duggin once we returned from Tinley. Even he was only selling a female in a pair, but I was happy to make that purchase from him - his reputation is stellar and this particular pair's background is special.![]()
