    Back to back sheds?

    Hey all,

I have a male pied that consistently goes into back to back sheds. Meaning if he sheds today, he will go blue again in a day or two. It's happened several times already this year and no issues. He just shed last week and he shed again today. This time I noticed strange pink marks which I've never seen before. Any thoughts?

    Re: Back to back sheds?

My pied gets these pink marks after he sheds I think it's just a sensitive spot from shedding. Mines doesn't get it as much as yours but it's usually gone writhing a day or two. Also about the back to back shedding I honestly don't know why he's doing that.
P.S. Would love to see a whole body picture.

Does he have any sort of an injury? Burn, uncontrolled heat source, rat bite?

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

No injury or mites. He's in a rack with 5 others and they are all fine. Temp is controlled by a herpstat.

Here's an older picture. He's on the left.

No issues with his piece of heat tape? Have you checked it?

I have heard about pieds and the pinks at shed, but do not personally own one, so no experience with that.

It's one continuous piece of heat tape.
