    determining age

I was given a ball python as a gift. It was approx. 19 inches long. Does anyone know the average length at birth and approximate growth rate so that I may calculate this little guy's age?

There is no set growth rate for ball pythons. It all depends on how well they eat. Some snakes grow faster and larger than others.
How much does it weigh? We measure snake growth by weight in grams, not length.

No not really. I have a pair thay are the same age and one is about 800g now while the other is close to 1300g.
They all grow at different rates.

    Hello,
Well, I weighed him today and he was 250 grams according to my diet scale. Any guesses as to age?

OK. Let's just say he is a good eater. I estimate 3-6 months.

My consistent eating snakes have generally grown 50-100 grams a month. Roughly.

The ones who are more picky grow slower.

    Re: determining age

    Hello again,
I have a question about eating. My boy has stopped eating several months ago. How long can he go without eating? Why has he stopped?
