Sanity check - full body stuck shed

Room dried out apparently and one of my females who is building had a full body stuck shed. She got off half her face. I threw in some sphagnum moss in the hide but don't want to do the towel trick etc. Because I don't want to stress her during breeding season.

One full stuck shed will be fine until her next shed, yes? Just going to keep humidity way up and trust she will try to work it off if it's a problem. It's weird because normally they try to work it off and have shreds etc. She hasn't really tired with this one and it's been about a week since the first attempt where she got half her face. I've got a ceramic half log in there to rub on.

I actually encountered this once even when the humidity and everything seemed to be fine. We put just enough water in a sterilite tub to cover over her back and let her soak for about 30 minutes. Before we placed her back in her rack we misted the bedding a bit. Checked the next morning and she had shed completely, in one piece.

I would get the shed off. Or at the very least, get enough off so the shed doesn't go completely around her. Since she's building, she's getting larger. You don't want to constrict her in her own dried skin and/or cutting off any circulation.
That's usually how necrotic tails come to be.

Yes, it's more commonly seen at the tip of the tail.

Snakes shed because they are growing and their old skin is too small for them. If they grow rapidly(like developing eggs) the skin can squeeze the parts of the body that are growing like a rubber band.

It's like trying to wear jeans that are 3 sizes too small, it's not comfy.

here's a good image of a constricted tail. The person did get it all off, but part of the tail actually did fall off, though not enough to cause problems.

When I got Jester, his tail had a few layers of shed and it was beginning to look like that. If I hadn't gotten him when I did, he would have lost his tail.

It has been seen with BPs that have eaten really large meals with fully encased stuck sheds. And a full tail stuck shed can cut off the circulation and kill the live tissue. It usually occurs in snakes that rapidly grow.

Partial shed or one that has split should be OK. But I personally wouldn't be comfortable with a full body stuck shed.

Thanks all. After leaving the sphagnum moss in there really soaked in the hide with her overnight I came back and saw that she has been working it off on her own. I'll give a few more days and then help out with the tail and vent and anywhere else that the shed makes a full ring around her.
