    Yes, it's more commonly seen at the tip of the tail.

    Snakes shed because they are growing and their old skin is too small for them. If they grow rapidly(like developing eggs) the skin can squeeze the parts of the body that are growing like a rubber band.

    It's like trying to wear jeans that are 3 sizes too small, it's not comfy.

    here's a good image of a constricted tail. The person did get it all off, but part of the tail actually did fall off, though not enough to cause problems.

    When I got Jester, his tail had a few layers of shed and it was beginning to look like that. If I hadn't gotten him when I did, he would have lost his tail.
