snakes not gaining weight.
what is the average weight gain in hatchling through 1 year?
I ask because I got my lesser boy and my pastel girl in November and they eat every 5 days (fuzzy rat) and have both shed once (complete shed) they are healthy and have good poos but havn't gained any weight. each time I weigh them they are about 200 grams give a take a few.
is this normal? My lesser boy took 2 fuzzies tonight so I am going to try 2 fuzzies every 5 days, is that ok? my pastel wouldn't eat the second one.
The size prey bigger then fuzzy is weaned and they are too big for these 200g babies I think.
does it sound like they need more food? larger food?

Larger food items. 30g rat should be good.

Re: snakes not gaining weight.
Just the other day I decided to go up to medium rats for one of my snakes... I swear I thought shed tear open lol but she swallowed it like a champ and you could see a small bump where the rat was once she got it all the way down so it actually was about the perfect size.

Re: snakes not gaining weight.
At 200g they should be on at least pups. Probably weans. Once you start giving them bigger meals they will start growing quickly.

Re: snakes not gaining weight.
Since you have a scale a good thing to do is try to give them 10-15% of there body weight that's what I've been doing with my spider boy I got him middle of Sept as a hatchling about 70-80g he now weighs a little over 500g
Edit: he also eats like a garbage disposal so who knows maybe your snakes just like to grow at a slower pace all are different!

I wouldn't worry about weighing them, just feed them a meal that appropriate sized. Feed the according to the fattest part of there body, even slightly bigger is fine.
i was going to say they probably aren't gaining and growing cause you are feeding smaller than you should
