    Ovy??

I know most of you are already tired of these threads but some opinion would be nice. This is my first year of breeding, I have looked at a bunch of pics but I still do not have a good eye for what I am looking for. She has locked 9 times in the past 3-3.5 months. About a month ago she went off feed but it seems like she is still somehow getting fatter (I weight before every second feeding and with 6 skipped meals she has still put on 190+ grams) Anyway I guess I should throw up some pictures. Sorry in advance for the picture quality and the lighting, my camera is dead and I don't have and overhead light in the snake room so all pictures are with me holding an extension cord with a bulb+adapter plugged into it LOL

    The tail looks weirdly tiny

And while I am uploading pictures here is a new pickup

Also my wife recently gave birth to this monkey..didn't know humans could have baby monkeys

    sorry...could not resist posting that

    Re: Ovy??

Re: your female, she looks solid to me. She'll definitely go. I keep pretty meticulous records on feeding weights, sheds, etc., which helps when you're breeding. Any chance you weighed her prior? But again she looks good to me ... can't tell if she's OVY, but close. More importantly, I love your last pic ... ! Pythons are a fun hobby, but that little one is what life is all about! Congrats Bro, beautiful baby ... cheers,

First of all, congrats on your human clutch hatching!

Secondly, I think your girl is just building and probably has to take a dump. When they ovulate, they will be stretched out and look like they swallowed a football. You'll know when it happens.

Yeah, your girl is building good, but no ovy.

Trust me, an ovulation is impossible to mistake.

It is possible to miss the ovy itself, since it doesn't last long, but after her ovy, she'll get even bigger, and as she get's closer to laying she'll get a triangular spine. It's easy to spot. Here is a good picture of my biggest girl when she ovulated:

See how clearly she is swollen about 2/3rds of her body? Her neck and upper body is normal, and the last several inches down to her tail is normal, but right there in the middle she really does look like she swallowed a football. I hope this helps a little.
