Guess I am obligated to fix this.

So I had to take a snake into the vet today and at the end of the visit, this is the caresheet I was given.... excuse the line of not much ink.

Good news is, I can actually hand a revised version to the owner without much fuss, so what do we see that needs fixing?

No matter how much I would love to see it, I'm pretty sure a 10+ foot gtp doesn't exist. So the sizes and species need to be more realistic and maybe add ball pythons and other actual common pet trade species. Also im pretty sure American tree boa is supposed to be Central American, which I would think amazons would be much more common.

Forget the feed outside the enclosure myth, that has been laid to rest many times. Unless there is species I don't know about that this actually does help?

Enclosure 2 times the length of the snake? so I need a 18 foot long cage for the carpet? Also I think mentioning there are easier ways to keep snakes besides a screen top aquarium with a unregulated heat lamp.

night drop is not necessary for any snake I know of. Nor is UV light. nor is soaking.

also I think the websites could use some updating.

Anyone else see anything else that needs fixing?

I am very excited about my gtp reaching 10 feet but I really hope he hits 20ft.

I am not excited about needing bigger cages. I don't think Petco has 12ft terrarium tanks and I'm pretty sure a 40ft one is out of the question. I just dont know what to do. I'm going to need a 18 wheeler to deliver it and its going to cost a ton to cut all the walls out of my house to slide the new tanks in.

Lastly I spoke with my bloods and they are not happy about the addition of a snake gym so they can get some exercise. I tried to get them to understand that in the new tanks they would still have plenty of room but they refused to listen and were insisting on getting a rat vending machine instead.

lol yea, that cage wouldn't even fit in my house, even if I knocked down walls and everything.

so just to save me from filtering through stuff, whats the size range of bloods and normal cage size for an adult?

It is usually recommended to provide a cage that is equal to 2/3 the snakes length in length and 1/3 the snakes length in depth.

So 6ft snake = 4ft long x 2ft deep, this size works fine for my bloods and my 6ft brb. My cages are 4ft x 2ft x 15 inch.
